AWS Cloud Migration

Migrate with clarity.
Reinvent with purpose.

Evolve applies the proven 7 Rs of migration — rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, relocate, retire, retain — plus the transformative 8th R, Reinvention. Guided by the AWS Well-Architected Framework, we build secure, cost-optimized cloud foundations that reduce risk and accelerate results.

Choosing the right path
Every cloud journey is different. Evolve helps you choose the right path using the 7 Rs of migration, from rehosting and replatforming to refactoring, retaining, or retiring workloads. We also embrace the new 8th R, Reinvention, helping you use AWS cloud, data, automation, and AI capabilities to reimagine how your business operates and creates value.
Guided by the AWS Well-Architected Framework, we build secure, reliable, high-performing, sustainable, and cost-optimized cloud foundations that reduce migration risk and accelerate results.

Migration strategies

The 8 Rs
01
Rehost

Evolve moves workloads to AWS with minimal application changes, accelerating data center exits while evaluating operating system, database, and application licenses to prevent compliance issues and unnecessary cloud costs.

02
Replatform

Evolve introduces targeted cloud optimizations, such as AWS managed services, modern operating systems, and right-sized infrastructure. We assess license mobility, support requirements, and opportunities to reduce commercial software expenses.

03
Refactor / re-architect

Evolve helps redesign applications around AWS-native architectures, containers, microservices, and serverless technologies. Our licensing knowledge helps identify where proprietary components can be optimized or replaced to reduce technical debt and long-term costs.

04
Repurchase

When replacing an existing application with a SaaS or AWS Marketplace solution delivers greater value, Evolve compares functionality, subscription terms, migration costs, contractual commitments, and total cost of ownership to support an informed decision.

05
Relocate

Evolve transfers compatible environments, such as VMware-based workloads, to AWS with minimal architectural change. We validate infrastructure dependencies and software licensing implications to enable a fast, compliant transition.

06
Retire

Evolve identifies redundant, unused, and low-value systems that can be safely decommissioned. We also uncover associated licenses, support agreements, and renewals that can be eliminated to generate immediate savings.

07
Retain

When migration is not yet technically, financially, or contractually appropriate, Evolve helps maintain the workload in place while documenting dependencies, licensing restrictions, risks, and a practical roadmap for future action.

08
Reinvention

Evolve helps organizations move beyond migration by modernizing legacy applications, platforms, and operating models on AWS. By combining cloud-native technologies, data, automation, AI, and deep licensing knowledge, we help reduce technical debt, streamline operations, and transform legacy processes into scalable services, differentiated experiences, and new sources of business value.

Maximize AWS Funding and Migration Value

Evolve helps eligible organizations take advantage of AWS funding programs that can reduce the cost of planning, migrating, and modernizing workloads. We guide customers through the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP), including potential service credits and funding support across the assess, mobilize, and migrate phases.

Evolve also helps customers leverage AWS-funded assessments such as the Optimization and Licensing Assessment (OLA), Application Modernization Assessment (AMA), and Migration Viability Assessment (MVA). These engagements provide the data, business case, licensing analysis, and technical roadmap needed to make confident migration and modernization decisions.

Funding and credit availability are subject to AWS program requirements, workload scope, and customer eligibility.
